Description:
Criminal Law for Civil Practitioners: This presentation covers items for which all practicing attorneys should be aware. This includes a review of the law surrounding police encounters, standards of proof in criminal court, and the amendment in criminal and civil court contexts. This presentation also covers the ways in which criminal law is important to business clients and what attorneys should do if/when they receive a call from someone who has been arrested or is being investigated.
Vendor Risk Management: Beyond Contract Review: Banks & Vendor Due Diligence
Banks have a regulatory duty to assess, monitor, and control the risks associated with their third-party vendors. In addition to engaging legal counsel to advise on contract and legal risk, banks engage in a multi-step due diligence review that analyzes potential risks associated with the use of outside vendors.
