Sam Munafo retires from Vantage Bank Texas
Samuel J. Munafo, president and CEO of Vantage Bank Texas, a $2 billion bank with offices in San Antonio, Fort Worth, the Rio Grande Valley, Laredo and El Paso, retired March 31.
Effective with Munafo’s retirement, Jeff Sinnott, Vantage Bank Texas senior executive vice president of operations, technology and ERM, became the bank’s president and CEO, replacing Munafo on the Vantage Bank Board of Directors.
Munafo, 69, has been in banking for 48 years.
“Sam’s contributions to Vantage Bank Texas and Inter National Bank, have been outstanding,” said James W. Collins, chairman of the board of Vantage Bank Texas. “He arrived at a critical time in the history of Inter National Bank and his leadership was instrumental in building a strong community bank, which was ultimately acquired by the Collins Family Trusts. He led Vantage Bank Texas and Inter National Bank through a merger in fall 2018 and oversaw Vantage Bank’s expansion into Fort Worth in 2019. Sam is a great banker and well-respected leader in our communities.”
Sinnott joined Vantage Bank Texas in 2018. He has been an active leader in commercial banking, operations and technology for more than 20 years. Sinnott has also worked with several of the largest financial institutions and global consumer product companies leading a variety of large technology initiatives that include early adoptions of paperless workflows and cloud-based solutions.
